Welcome to The Broad Abroad Blog. I'm your broad abroad, Kiley. I've been traveling & sharing stories of my travels & adventures since 2014, when I first traveled to Europe. I was whisked away by my suave French boyfriend to spend the summer traveling & exploring his beautiful home country. He has since passed, but I will always be thankful for the world he opened up to me, and it's my hope that I will be able to open the world to many other young travelers & wannabe travelers.I am currently finishing my (second) senior year of college in Caen, Normandie, France! I am pursuing a degree in biochemistry, but French will always be my true passion. Through this blog, I will share with you my favorite lesser-known travel destinations, tips & tricks for traveling & studying abroad, as well as many other stories, recipes, & experiences I have collected through my travels and studies. I hope you enjoy & potentially find inspiration to open yourself up to a new world.

Disclaimer: I'm not your average traveler. I don't always follows the "rules of travel" and sometimes find myself in interesting (if not dangerous) situations. While they make for great stories and adventures, I don't recommend following in my footsteps for certain situations (i.e. hitchhiking home from a nudist community in southern France). With that being said, I will still continue to post my experiences openly and candidly and will post disclaimers for any posts outlining experiences in which I do not recommend you partake.
